BM & LP


The Black Mesa & Lake Powell Railroad in located in Northern Arizona on the Navajo Reservation. The coal is strip mined on Black Mesa and converyored 13 miles to the silos of the railroad. Several trains per week are used to transport the coal to the power plant near Lake Powell.  The General Electric locomotives run under 50,000 volt cantenary.
